Connectyfi’s mission is to create the world’s biggest network of Research universities and Biotech companies that will facilitate students to find their next internship or career opportunity.
In today’s competitive world, a degree is not enough to secure a career. A related work experience is as important as a degree. According to the National Association of Colleges and Employers survey of 2019, 57.5 percent of students who had an internship received at least one job offer. Even though, there are thousands of opportunities available, finding the correct one, applying, and getting hired has always been a roadblock for students.
On the other hand, University faculty and Biotech companies are struggling to recruit candidates. They waste a lot of time and money on job postings and recruitment. A 2022 survey of 129 Biopharma companies by the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council (MassBio) presented a bleak outlook on the present state of hiring in various industries. A staggering 94.2% of those surveyed expressed significant challenges in recruiting skilled professionals with relevant experience. Additionally, 73.5% of respondents faced difficulties even in locating suitably qualified candidates for entry-level positions. The primary obstacles highlighted by companies included a limited pool of applicants, insufficient experience, and a lack of industry knowledge.
We are leveraging machine learning algorithms that use a student’s skills, interests, and experiences to create a niche community of peers, university faculty, and biotech companies. This facilitates inter-disciplinary collaboration and helps in upgrading in-demand skills and hands-on research opportunities globally.
